Osteoarthiritis
is a painful condition in which the patient suffers from aches in
the joints due to the wearing away of the cushioning cartilage between
bones. The disease can cause loss of mobility and the pain can hamper
the performance of the patient considerably. Supplements
like glocusamine condroitin is found in the body naturally. It stimulates
the cartilage to form and repair itself. Condroitin sulfate is another
natural substance in the body that prevents the enzymes from degrading
the building block joint cartilage.
According
to the claims made by the manufacturers the supplements actually
help to reverse the damage, making the cartilage more resilient
and stronger. Taking the supplements regularly will lessen the pain
and improve bone strength. These supplements are not for body building
like creatine ethyl ester.The
supplements are derived from animal products and are completely
safe for human usage. Clinical trials in Europe and have shown that
patients who use the supplements have made marked reduction of pain
without any side-effects. A new trial is being conducted in National
Institute of Arthiritis to discover the other effects of the supplements.
Glocusamine
condroitin can be taken alongside the medication that you are already
on. They are not medicine, but completely natural substances that
will not affect the normal metabolic processes of the body. You can
consult your doctor before you start taking the supplements, if
you notice any negative effects once you start taking the supplements

Walter Descalzo (2007-02-09 03:22:21) what's the difference between glocusamine sulfate & glocusamine hydrochloride?
| Webmaster - John (2007-02-13 05:29:00) The difference between glucosamine sulfate & glucosamine hydrochloride is that the hydrochloride form is more concentrated than the sulfate form, and the hydrochloride form contains substantially less sodium per effective dose than the sulfate form.
| Moderator - J. Benot (2007-02-17 09:29:11) Both Glucosamine hydrochloride and Glucosamine sulfate are used in order to cure Osteoarthiritis. From the clinical studies done so far there is no evidence that glucosamine sulfate offers advantages over glucosamine hydrochloride.
| Thomas J Johnson III (2007-02-26 15:36:09) If I am weighting 184lbs. How much of the Glocusamine should I be taking.
| Moderator - J. Benton (2007-02-27 10:36:55) The labeling often recommends an initial dose of 1500 mg of glucosamine sulfate and 1200 mg of chondroitin sulfate for 60 days, then a maintenance dose of 500 mg of each daily following that.
Don’t forget the fact that because glocusamine is a sugar, some have suggested that large doses may increase your risk of developing diabetes.
