| Tibi (2007-04-05 13:23:33) I assume that you are also going to a gym as you have decided to take protein supplements. If you do so my advice for you is to have a protein shake in the morning one hour before breakfast and another one after you finished your training.

A lot of kids are going to the gym just before the summer so they can have some nice biceps and triceps but the results are not always visible. You ( and your friends ) will see a real difference in about 4-5 months. The protein drink is good at any moment but We recommend to use it with 1-2 hours before or even during your exercise routine.

Therefore if you can not eat this amount of proteins a day you can take protein bars, drinks or supplements. It really does not matter when you take your protein supplements. It is advised to take them after you eat but it is not necessary to do so. You can take a protein drink or bar after you exercise for a quick supply of nutriments. This will make you feel less tired. You should always remember that proteins are absolutely necessary for muscle growth. Over all proteins are essential for a healthy body. It is important to take protein supplements both before you start exercising and after you finish because after your workout routine ends your body starts to repair muscle tissue and it needs proteins to do that.
